Upcoming Programs at the Visitor Center

Thursday, November 8, 12 noon-1:30 p.m. – Volunteer Gathering – For current & those wishing to volunteer.  Bring a bag lunch and join us.  We’ll talk about opportunities and what we can do to better connect you to our wildlife refuge.

Thursday, November 15, 6:30 p.m. – Raptors of Maine with Don Reimer – Learn what raptors are found in Maine at various seasons of the year, basic ID of the birds, manner of flight, breeding biology, migration habits and where the birds winter.

Saturday, December 1, 10 a.m. -2 p.m. – Holiday Open House & Artists’ Reception –

 10 a.m. – 12 noon  Meet our new artists: Sharon Boody-Dean, Sandy Cirillo and Sherrie York

11 a.m.12 noon  Movie: Counting on Birds – learn about this longest-running wildlife census in the world- the Christmas bird count!

12 noon – 2 p.m. For the Birds Coffee House – How many types of birds can we find in songs? Our coffee house will feature the group, Ukes Rock, who will open with a 30-minute set of bird songs.  Singers are invited to perform one or two songs that mention a type of bird. Let’s see how many birds we can count in music!

The Nature Store will be open throughout the open house, stocked with great gift items for the holidays.
